join us in our crabbie feast on Sunday! as requested by Chandler.
- 8 ounces white crabmeat - use the lump or fancy (i like the lumpier better)
- 1 (5-ounce) jar Cheddar-horseradish spread (recommended: Kraft Old English) - its in the snack section of the grocery store
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), softened
- english muffins - halved/split open, whatever i just remember that once i made them and didn't open them up - dumb.
optional - cayenne pepper for a little kick - i have never done this.
Directions
In a large bowl, combine crab, cheese spread, mayonnaise, garlic powder, butter and hot sauce. Divide mixture evenly over english muffins and spread. I lay all the english muffins on a baking sheet to spread them with the crab topping and then put them in the freezer for about 15 minutes. when you take them out of the freezer its way easier to cut them in quarters. Bake until topping is heated through and golden brown on top, about 10 to 15 minutes.

Delish! That's the recipe I use. I think I tried paprika or something like that once and it was fine. I have also skipped mayo. If you're making them fresh, you can skip the freezing part, bake them whole then cut hot (just a bit messy) - but he could eat the whole thing at once too.
Enjoy it! I have a hankering for monkey bread one of these days.
Agree - it's yummy! I do a slight variation on this as well by adding finely sliced scallions and chopped red peppers and celery for color and crunch - but the kiddies might not like the added veggies.
next time try ham biscuits too
